Billie Piper sparks concern after stumbling in street with 'cocaine snorting' rocker boyfriend

STUMBLING around the street with drink in hand, while her rocker boyfriend appears to snort cocaine, Billie Piper looks like a woman in crisis.

The pictures that emerged of the actress just days ago prompted widespread concern among her friends and fans ­— not least because she seems to be following a well-trodden path to self-destruction.

Billie, 33, is the latest poster girl for the “boomerang babes” — a tribe of one-time hellraisers who tried to protect themselves in a bubble of domesticity, only to see all their old demons re-emerge when trouble hit.

Like Lily Allen, Zoe Ball, Charlotte Church and Kate Moss before her, the call of the wild has proved impossible for Billie to resist.

After eight years of being a model wife and mother, her marriage to the Lewis actor Laurence Fox collapsed in March.

Now once again, Billie is embracing the lifestyle she tried so hard to shun.

Laurence and Billie, who met in 2006 while performing together in West End show Treats, wed in 2007 and seemed like a perfect match, with Billie gushing that they were “madly in love”.

She had “Fox” tattooed on her wedding-ring finger, as well as her husband’s name and date of their wedding on her arm.

The couple settled into a picturesque cottage near Midhurst, West Sussex, and threw themselves into country life, buying a horse, two pigs and three chickens. Their first son, Winston, arrived in 2008 and their second, Eugene, in 2012.

But way before then Billie had packed in more than her fair share of getting wasted.

At 15 she was fashioned into an English Britney Spears and had a No1 single, Because We Want To.

Despite her squeaky clean image, booze was a regular feature in her life, she had experimented with drugs and she struggled with anorexia. One night when she was aged 16 she even contemplated suicide.

Not long after this she met presenter Chris Evans and the pair tied the knot just five months after their first date — despite a 16-year age gap.

She quit music and spent the next six years with her new husband on boozy benders.

Billie, who has described herself as “hardcore through my early 20s”, was snapped shuffling around the supermarket in her pyjamas, loading up her trolley with booze.

It was only after their divorce in 2004 that Billie really started settling down.

She established herself as one of Britain’s favourite actresses thanks to her roles in Doctor Who and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

In 2011 second husband Laurence boasted of their “boringly normal” life.

However, no matter how hard Billie tried, it seemed she was never completely comfortable in their domestic idyll.

She encouraged a move back to London in 2014, admitting she had become bored in the country.

The marriage ended after months of worsening rows, which pals blamed on Laurence’s volatile ­temper.

Billie was devastated, and her emotional state has not been helped by her ex’s decision to tour a bitter break-up album.

She has chosen to let off steam with new man Johnny Lloyd, former frontman of indie band Tribes.

Meanwhile, Laurence is taking on the bulk of their parenting responsibilities.

He said: “I’m busy being a dad. I do just have to look after the kids at the moment because ­Billie’s working.”

Billie said once: “I think I’m just restless as a person.”

If that is true, she could be a boomerang babe for ever — like these celebs.

RADIO 1 Breakfast Show host Zoe was the original ladette, notorious for her ability to drink most blokes under the table.

Meeting husband Norman Cook, a.k.a. Fatboy Slim, didn’t slow her down – in fact he says they “partied our t**s off around the world and enjoyed every minute”.

Even on the morning of their wedding in 2000, Zoe was pictured in a cowboy hat clutching a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and a fag.

But she was forced to admit she was out of control after she was caught cheating on Norman with DJ Dan Peppe in 2003.

She said: “I wasn’t happy. And what I’ve always done in my past when life hit a rocky patch was just run from trouble into the next relationship. I’ve had so many boyfriends and that’s what happened if it ever got difficult.”

Norman forgave her but it wasn’t until 2009 that Zoe put her party days behind her. Following a three-day New Year’s bender she described as “total carnage”, she quit drinking.

At home in Hove, East Sussex, Zoe, 45, was happy to let her career take a back seat while she raised 15- year-old Woody and Nelly, six.

Typical Saturday evenings were devoted to watching Homeland in her pyjamas with Norman.

In 2011 Zoe started fronting Strictly Come Dancing’s spin-off show It Takes Two.

Its full-on schedule keeps her in London for much of the week in the autumn and winter and she admits it can be all-consuming.

Taking part as a contestant in 2006 is what she says “helped people see me as more of a ‘lady’”.

Sadly, her ladette past was raked up again last Christmas when pictures emerged of Zoe snogging 22-year-old wannabe pop tar TayTay Starhz at a boozy ITT wrap party – to Norman’s embarrassment.

She said later: “When it happened I kind of went underground. I’m never going out again, so I won’t be in any more headlines.”

It remains to be seen whether the one-time wildchild can keep her promise.

WHEN Lily Allen shot to pop stardom in 2006, aged 20, she spoke candidly about her childhood as the daughter of hell-raising actor Keith Allen, who walked out on the family when she was just four.

Lily, 31, attended 13 schools, experimented with drugs and was in and out of therapy.

Just a few months after meeting DJ Ed Simons, of the Chemical Brothers, she suffered a miscarriage in January 2008.

It saw the star split from Simons and undergo treatment for depression at a ­private clinic.

But by May that year she was partying – snapped topless at a bash in Cannes.

When she met property developer Sam Cooper in July 2009, Lily was craving stability.

She swapped the party scene for quiet nights in with him and, aged just 24, announced she was retiring from music.

They wed in 2011 and retreated to their Cotswolds manor. There Lily em­braced motherhood – daught­ers Ethel and Marnie were born in 2011 and 2013.

But she had dabbled back in music in 2012 and things came to a head last July when she passed out at Glastonbury after a wild weekend. She was rarely seen in public with Sam after that.

Lily split with her management team in September amid fear her life was “spiralling out of control”.

Having put her beloved Cotswolds pad up for sale, it looks like the end of the domestic dream for Lily, who is now expected to face divorce proceedings.

NO ONE parties harder than Kate Moss. She’s been at it since she was a 15-year-old supermodel and shows no sign of slowing now she’s 42.

One pal claimed Kate was nicknamed “The Tank” because of the amount of booze she could put away and in a 2014 book, author Maureen Callahan claim­ed Kate would often get through three grams of cocaine and a bottle of vodka in one session.

Kate went especially wild after Johnny Depp broke her heart and had to check into the Priory for rehab in 1998.

In 2001 she flirted with a quieter life when she began ­dating magazine publisher Jefferson Hack. She had their daughter Lila Grace the following year.

Jefferson’s mother Teresa Hack believed Kate was ready to put her wild years behind her, saying: “I know she has had some problems but Kate is marvellously well now and they are so happy.”

But Kate did not stay with steady Jefferson long.

In 2005 she started dating junkie Libertines star Pete Doherty and embarked on a wild, two-year romance during which time she was pictured apparently snorting cocaine.

Kate had another stab at settling down when she wed Jamie Hince of The Kills in 2011.

But since their split last summer Kate has been back to her old ways.

She was so drunk on an easyJet flight that she had to be escorted from the plane for “disruptive” behaviour.

Last month it was reported Kate had quit booze to support toyboy lover Count Nikolai von Bismarck.

But as her most enduring relationship is with her wild side, there is no guarantee the split will be permanent.

ALTHOUGH hailed the Voice of an Angel aged just 11, Charlotte Church’s teenage years were far from angelic.

By the time she was 18 she was ready to shed her clean-cut image and became notorious as a binge drinker.

“I can sink ’em”, she said in an interview at 19. “I’ll start with a Cheeky Vimto – double port and a bottle of WKD Blue in the same glass. They’re lethal.

“Once I’m out, I’ll have about ten double vodkas. Then I’m pretty much KO’d.”

Her drinking sessions saw her frequently pictured stumbling out of pubs. She was once videoed with her knickers around her ankles after ­overindulging at a polo match.

Then she met rugby star Gavin Henson in 2005 and seemed set for a fresh start.

They bought a £1.2million estate in Glamorgan and had two children – Ruby, now eight and Dexter, seven.

But the relationship was frequently in crisis, not least because of Charlotte’s old adversary – alcohol.

She admitted: “We do argue more when we’ve had a drink.”

Around the time of their split, in May 2010, Charlotte was pictured slumped and shoeless after sinking champagne on a night out with the girls in Shoreditch, East London.

Today Charlotte is in a steady relationship with musician Jonathan Powell.

However, there are signs she still has a wild side.

Police were called to her mansion in February after her 30th birthday party got out of control – with neighbours complaining about the noise going on until 5.30am.

Performing at Glastonbury last month, she admitted she had partied “too f***ing hard”.
